The Mission

The world is at a point of inflection, and almost everywhere real systemic change now arrives only one way: after the shock. A coastline floods, an industry collapses, a supply chain breaks, and suddenly the impossible becomes policy. People and institutions hold their positions until circumstances force their hand. That is the operating model of the old world: catastrophe first, movement second.

I have spent twenty-five years inside that model, on boards, reviews, reform programs, building projects and the last six testing what could replace it. My conclusion is simple. The problem is not a shortage of good people or good ideas. The problem is structural: no one holds a durable mandate to act ahead of the crisis, so almost no one does.

My mission is to build the structure that creates that mandate. A way for a system, a housing sector, a regional economy, a State, to see its shared risk clearly, decide together, fund together, implement together and measure what matters, before the shock arrives. Proactive change, made possible.

Underneath the journey is the reason. At ten years old, over a school project on the hole in the ozone layer, I decided I would work where I could have influence and impact. The reason deepened when I had children, and it amplified when I did my own healing and understood the half I had been missing: the planet cannot be healed by unhealed people.

Heal ourselves. Connect to each other. Heal the planet.

That order is not a slogan. It is the method.

What I Know Now

Six years of WA+, and every room prior, consolidated to the lessons I trust enough to build on.

• Power does not volunteer. People protect control and the status quo until discomfort makes change the safer option. Without an external force, voluntary movement is rare.
• Change follows disruption. Around the world, systems are already changing where climate, conflict or economics have broken the status quo. Comfort, like ours in Australia, is its own form of inertia.
• The mandate is missing. We still look to government to set the vision, but political structures can no longer hold long-term decisions. Social licence is dissipating daily, and simple stories get sold because the complexity is hidden.
• Real information restores social licence. People disrupt what they cannot understand. Show them the true complexity and give them a genuine role in the response, and questioning becomes participation.
• Opportunity alone does not move a system. Without acknowledged need or external backing, even the best model stalls. So choose cases where the need is already felt, and bring the funding that lets results happen.
• Money will try to buy the old power back. Watch how influence and accolades gather around anything that works. The protection is structural: the collective holds the decisions, so there is nothing for status to capture.
• The centre decides the integrity. If the people hosting need the credit, the model quietly becomes the old one. The centre must be people who have done their own work and want the outcome more than the acknowledgement.
• Bottom-up earns the right. Credibility is built through discrete interventions where joint need is acknowledged, then assembled, piece by piece, into system-level change.

The Model · Earth 2.0

Earth 2.0 is the working name for the structure we are now creating: collaborative democracy, made operational. It is not another advocacy platform and it is not a talkfest. It is a structured process and a bias for action, with a defined challenge, a curated room and a funded plan.

The hierarchy of control is flattened. Every part of the system has a seat and a voice, and no seat sits above another.

How a case runs

1. Choose the case. A real, shared risk or opportunity, in a place where the need for change is already acknowledged. Momentum matters more than ambition.
2. Curate the room. The people whose buy-in decides the outcome, not the people easiest to convene. The hosting centre is vetted for outcome-first orientation.
3. Table the real information. The full complexity, published and shared, so every seat works from the same truth. No simple stories.
4. Co-create the plan. The room designs the response together: staged transitions, explicit roles, real commitments of money and in-kind support.
5. Fund it together. Mutual investment across the seats, with philanthropy underwriting the early proof. No funder buys the outcome.
6. Implement together. The collective is the decision body. Delivery moves in visible sprints, and no single actor owns the result.
7. Measure and show. Social, economic and environmental outcomes, tracked on a living map of the ecosystem and published as evidence for the next room.

The process is hosted and stewarded, never owned. The integrity of the model is held at the centre, each case is curated with the right people in the right place, and the structure can be stood up anywhere in the world.

The Mechanism · The Threshold

Inside Earth 2.0 runs the model I have been proving in rooms for twenty-five years. Earth 2.0 is the architecture. The Threshold is the catalyst.

So the work is not repair. It is composing the new architecture the world now requires, and understanding, honestly, when a person, a room or a system is ready to receive it. Given too early, the best help in the world lands as a spike and fades. Provided at the threshold, the same help becomes a catalyst that holds.

• Readiness before access. The answer, the strategy and the network wait until the readiness is real.
• Sense · Design · Shift · Stay. Understand what is actually here. Create conditions, not outcomes. Move with the system, not against it. Remain long enough for the threshold to arrive.
• Coherence · Coalition · Capacity. What the work produces, in order: truth that holds under pressure, a table that holds together, and a system that can keep changing after we leave.
• Steward, not judge. We do not decide who or what deserves to change. We keep the conditions, name what readiness looks like, and let each person and each system make its own shift.

The Path

The same law that moves systems moves this mission: one at a time, and then all at once. We are not launching a global model. We are growing one.

What We Refuse

The model is protected by its refusals as much as its claims.

• No single owner, and no single author. Credit belongs to the collective. Anything built around one name rebuilds the problem it was meant to solve.
• No seat above another. Not government, not capital, not us.
• Funding never buys the outcome. Inputs and decisions stay transparent, and donor influence is named and neutralised in the charter.
• No certainty theatre. If the real information cannot be put on the table, the case is not ready to run.
• No manufactured urgency, and no false simplicity. Both are how the old model performs change without making any.
• No forcing. We work where need is acknowledged and readiness is real. Everything else is a not yet.
• Never owned. Hosted, stewarded, and handed on.

My Terms

For six years I have carried the energy for change largely on my own, without a clear mandate and without much of a net. That season is over. This mission deserves a steward who is resourced, supported and alive. So I hold every opportunity, every partnership and every room against five conditions:

1. A clear mandate. I know what I am authorised to decide and do.
2. Visible proof. Real, near-term signs that it is working. Not another year of hoping.
3. A shared engine. Momentum does not live or die on my energy alone.
4. Fair exchange. The reward matches the impact, and it moves my family toward the goals we have worked so hard for.
5. Room for a life. Music, nature, movement, friends, rest. Protected, not squeezed.

This is readiness before access, applied to myself. If a potential cannot meet these terms, it is not ready for me, and I am allowed to say not yet.

It Was Always This

A ten-year-old chose influence and impact over everything else. A young lawyer watched institutions waste the exact moment a person was most able to change. Two decades of boards and state strategies taught me how systems hold, and my own healing taught me why they move. WA+ turned the lessons into practice. Earth 2.0 turns the practice into a structure the world can use.

None of it was a detour. The twenty-year infrastructure strategy, the first cross-sector net zero table, the federal review, the pilots, the healing: one pattern, learned from every side. Now it gets said clearly and built deliberately.
